Fluid coils are used to heat or cool air within a conditioned space.
Fluid Coil type heat exchangers can be used in Air Handling Units (AHU) to capture the warmth or chill in the air or water, to prevent it from being lost. It can also be used to transfer the heat or cold to other systems.
Steam coils type of heat exchangers are used in industrial air heating and processing as well as in HVAC applications.
Steam coils use the heat that is released when steam condenses (change of state from vapor to a liquid). Coils in this case must be manufactured and designed with thicker materials, keeping in mind the exposure to high temperature and pressure plus added chemicals and easy removal of condensate.
Steam coils are used in a wide range of applications in several industries like HVAC, power generation, food storage & processing, and military.
